Living with HIV/AIDS - Healthy Mind

Being mentally and emotionally fit can have a huge influence on how you cope with your diagnosis and live with HIV/AIDS. Adopting a positive attitude is the first step you can take.

Our caring team of specialists have put together a few helpful options you can consider:

Counselling
By talking to a counsellor about the things you’re going through, you can get guidance and advice from someone that will support you in the decisions you need to make.

Talk to people who can help
You’ll be surprised how many people are willing to support you. Whether it’s a friend or family member, a

doctor or health worker, a minister, traditional or faith
healer or another person with HIV/AIDS. Opening up to people can help prevent you from feeling alone and isolated.

Join a support group
Other people living with HIV/AIDS can relate with what you’re going through and will help give you hope and a feeling of acceptance. If you’re ready for it, invite your family or friends to your support group, as they can be a great source of support.
